I do not know much about this song except it is pretty sad like a lot of other Russian love songs. In this regard they are very similar to Portuguese Fado songs with their mournful melodies and lyrics.
This is a pretty sad song about unshared love. The authors of lyrics and music are unknown as it is often with the tunes that became truly folk.
